Industry
The main industrial specialization of the Atyrau region is the oil and gas sector, the chemical sector, the production of machinery and equipment for the oil industry. In the region, work continues on several innovative productions. First of all, this is the production of geotextiles, as well as extruded geosynthetic materials. The products can be used in the construction of highways, hydraulic engineering for the construction of pipelines, warehouses and in other industries.

Atyrau region is one of the most dynamically developing regions of Kazakhstan (the main areas of development are the petrochemical industry, oil and gas engineering, construction industry, agro-industrial complex and fishing industry), and successfully cooperates with more than 50 countries of the world. The Atyrau region annually hosts the oil and gas exhibition "Global Oil&Gas Atyrau", which is attended by more than 150 countries of the world.
Industrial production in January-October 2024 amounted to 17,478.05 million US dollars in current prices, which is 2.8% less than in January-October 2023.
In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 3.4%, in the manufacturing industry they increased by 1.9%
In the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning, there is an increase of 13.1%
In water supply, waste collection, treatment and disposal, pollution elimination activities, there is an increase of 3.2%.
